Promoting Health
Nurses' roles are not only to take care of the sick; nurses
help promote overall health and prevent sickness: from helping
young adults combat eating disorders and obesity by teaching
them how to prepare healthy foods, to advocating for programs
that keep seniors at home, to helping people who smoke through
the tough stages of smoking cessation, nurses play a critical
role in health promotion and disease prevention. |
